What is LPG?

LPG - The Magic Fuel

Everyone needs to know about this smart fuel

LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) is a hydrocarbon gas that exists in a liquefied form but – here’s this magical property- used as a gas.  There’s more – One liter of liquid LPG will expand to 270 liters of Gas. It is this property that permits storing large quantities of LPG in tanks and in cylinders of various capacities in liquid form, while normally using them in vapor or gaseous form.

LPG is a colourless, low carbon, nontoxic, clean, environment friendly and highly efficient fuel.

Supplied in two main forms, propane (C3H8) and butane (C₄H₁₀), LPG has a range of uses – from providing fuel for cooking in households, hotels, restaurants, for catering, powering fuel for vehicles, industries, housing complexes, and much more.

LPG vapor or gas is heavier than air and always settles down on the ground, usually in pockets or holes. An odor is always added just as we add in natural gas to detect leaks before they become hazardous.

Application of LPG

LPG is primarily used as domestic and commercial fuel for cooking, water heating. It is an excellent substitute for natural gas. Handling it at normal everyday temperature is easier. It is clean and burns efficiently. LPG is mainly used as an energy source.

It is commonly used in the following industry verticals:

Households

for cooking & heating

Hotels & Restaurants

in commercial cylinders as a LOT manifold system

Industries / Factories

as an energy saving fuel

Apartment Complexes

SNG (Synthetic Natural Gas) with gas distribution network

Housing Societies

as Air-Mix fuel as ‘Central Gas Supply” with metered connection

Vehicles

as an eco-friendly fuel for all types of vehicles

Agriculture

for Frost Control, Flame Cultivation, and Crop Drying
